New oyster-themed lingerie is delightfully weird, possibly sexy, based on tasty Hiroshima oysters

If oysters turn you on (even without eating them) then this lingerie is for you!

We’ve seen some weird lingerie here at SoraNews24–like lacy panties with detachable cat-tails–but this might take the cake. If you or your partner love oysters–like, really love oysters–then you’re probably the target market for this strangely titillating oyster lingerie set.

Complete with a white bralette whose frilly cups look like oyster shells–a la Ariel from The Little Mermaid–and a matching pair of panties or thong with a frilly oyster shell right over the crotch, this is possibly the most unique lingerie set out there.

It’s made by The World is My Oyster, an apparel brand themed entirely around oysters. The World is My Oyster is dedicated to spreading the word about oysters from Hiroshima Prefecture, since many people believe that Hiroshima oysters are some of the tastiest in the country. The brand was founded with the idea of “not only enjoying eating oysters, but wearing them too.”

They make more than this lingerie set; they also have another in a semi-transparent pastel pink (without the oyster designs), plus a wide variety of roomwear, including hoodies, sweaters, and T-shirts. There are even tote bags, stickers, and cigarette lighters!

Of course, it’s no accident that their most obviously oyster-like items are the lingerie, since oysters are believed by many to be a powerful aphrodisiac. What’s more; no ordinary oysters were the inspiration for this set. These panties and this bralette are inspired by the Claire Oysters carefully raised and farmed at Farm Suzuki in Osakikamijima, Hiroshima–whose oysters, by the way, you can buy from a vending machine in Tokyo. The gills of Claire Oysters sometimes take on an iridescent blue-green color depending on the season, which is where the blue color of the frills on the lingerie comes from. They’re especially attractive oysters, and now, maybe even sexy.

If you really want to enjoy the full effects of the lingerie, you can actually buy both pieces (with either the panties or the thong) together with a box of raw oysters in a set called the “Oyster Night Party Set” for 31,850 yen (US$292.18). Or if your interest isn’t really in having a sexy oyster party but you still love oysters, you can instead opt to buy the “Anywhere Oyster Set”, which comes with a The World is My Oyster T-shirt, sweatshirt, or hoodie, along with canned oysters starting at 6,180 yen.

You can order these sets or the individual pieces from The World is My Oyster’s online shop. There will also be a pop-up shop for the brand at Kiro Hiroshima Poolside in Hiroshima City on March 27 and 28, so be sure to check it out if you’re in the area. The lingerie pieces are sold separately for 19,800 yen for the bralette and 8,800 yen for the panties or thong, so be prepared to spend a bit. But if it’s for you and your special someone, then it’s worth it, right?

Panties stolen from man in Nagoya by male/female team of thieves

Large amount of cheap lingerie pilfered.

By most metrics, crime levels are very low in Japan. Unfortunately though, panty theft isn’t unheard of, and so ordinarily someone getting arrested for stealing panties wouldn’t be all that noteworthy in and of itself.

However, an incident that took place in Nagoya was anything but ordinary, even by Japanese panty theft standards. Last week, the police arrested 25-year-old Koki Mori for breaking into a home in Moriyama Ward, the same part of the city in which Mori lives. After gaining entry, Mori made off with 34 pairs of panties.

One might expect that Mori’s crime was the result of his infatuation with a woman who lived in the house, but according to police reports the sole occupant of the home is a 37-year-old man. In another unexpected twist, Mori’s accomplice in pulling off the panty raid, who has also been arrested, is a woman in her 20s.

The burglary happened back in November, but it wasn’t until last week that investigators arrested Mori and his partner in crime. “There is no mistake that I entered the home and stole panties and other items,” said Mori, and a search of his home turned up some 170 stolen items. It’s unclear whether Mori knew that there was a treasure trove of panties inside the man’s house (either for his personal use, decorative purposes, or perhaps for guests), or if he’d already decided to rob the place and just happened to come across, and decide to snag, a few dozen pairs of panties during the heist.

Ostensibly, the panties will be returned to their rightful owner once they’re no longer needed as evidence in the case. It’s likely, though, that after several months in the thief’s possession, the owner would rather just replace the lingerie, especially since, according to police estimates, the total market value of the 34 pairs of panties is a mere 4,500 yen (US$43).

New Mt Fuji bra set lets you wear Japanese art under your clothes

Arty lingerie series pays homage to Hokusai’s Great Wave.

Back in May last year, Japanese mail-order lingerie retailer Peach John released a new bra set inspired by Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh entitled “Gogh Yellow”.

▼ The pretty two-piece was so popular it sold out a week after its release.

Following on from the success of this artfully designed number, the company is now releasing another bra set inspired by another famous painter, this time with plenty of stock on hand to ensure they don’t sell out as fast as last year.

▼ Say hello to “Hokusai Blue“, inspired by legendary Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849)

The print on this new bra will be familiar to people around the world as it features the seaside scene depicted in Hokusai’s famous Great Wave off Kanagawa, arguably the most well-known ukiyoe woodblock print from his globally lauded Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji series.

The Great Wave off Kanagawa is believed to have been first published sometime between 1829-1833

Image: Wikipedia/Katsushika Hokusai Metropolitan Museum of Art

Centuries after it was created, the stunning print is now being used to adorn the curves of a woman, with the giant wave splashing its spray over one cup as a boat rides another wave in front of Mt Fuji on the other.

▼ Sea foam and a series of undulating waves adorn the matching briefs and G-string.

Hokusai Blue is the latest design in Peach John’s “Master’s Bra” collection that pays homage to masterpieces from the art world. To celebrate, the new arrival will be joined by a re-release of previous Master’s Bras, namely the Gogh Yellow, inspired by Gogh’s Sunflowers

And the Mucha Ecru, which takes its design inspiration from The Four Flowers – Rose by Czech painter, illustrator and graphic artist Alfons Maria Mucha.

All the bras in the series are priced at 4,378 yen (US$39.94), while the briefs and G-strings are priced at 1,628 yen each.

The lingerie sets can be purchased at the Peach John online store, where you’ll also be able to pick up some unusual Barbie designs to suit all shapes and sizes.

Size, shape, or suppleness – What does Japan want in a pair of breasts?【Survey】

$
0
0

Survey also asks respondents for their favorite color of women’s lingerie.

When a survey is being done by a lingerie company, there’s not much point in beating around the bush. So when Osaka-based shaping lingerie company Maruko put together its latest online questionnaire, one of the questions was “What kind of women’s bust do you like?”

A total of 800 responses were collected, 200 each from respondents in their 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s, with half of each age group being men and half women. You might assume that the guys were all devout believers in the “bigger is better” philosophy, but even with multiple answers allowed, big breasts weren’t their top choice.

What kind of women’s bust do you like? (answers from men)
1. Beautifully shaped (selected by 64 percent of respondents)
2. Supple (42 percent)
3. Round like a rice bowl (27.3 percent)
4. Big (26.8 percent)
5. Small (7.3 percent)
6. Other (3.5 percent)

The women’s responses followed the same ranking order, although with only about half the number of votes for “big” as the category received from men.

What kind of women’s bust do you like? (answers from women)
1. Beautifully shaped (74.8 percent)
2. Supple (46.3 percent)
3. Round like a rice bowl (32.3 percent)
4. Big (14.5 percent)
5. Small (3.3 percent)
6. Other (2 percent)

▼ It’s also worth noting that “other” got nearly twice as many votes from men as women, perhaps because guys have conceptualized a greater number of breast descriptors, or maybe because they’re simply more amenable to boobs of any kind.

The survey also asked respondents what color of women’s lingerie they like, again with multiple answers allowed. While black, white, and pink made up the top three for both male and female participants, their orders were different, and men showed a stronger preference for bolder colors overall.

What color of women’s lingerie do you like? (answers from men)
1. White (48.3 percent)
2. Black (39.3 percent)
3. Pink (32 percent)
4. Sky blue (23.3 percent)
5. Blue (14 percent)
6. Red (12 percent)
7. Raspberry (10.3 percent)
8. Gray (6.3 percent)
9. Beige (5.8 percent)
10. Other (5.3 percent)

▼ “Raspberry” here refers to a purple/magenta-ish shade reminiscent of the fruit, not some sort of flavored edible underwear.

What color of women’s lingerie do you like? (answers from women)
1. Black (53.3 percent)
2. Pink (37.3 percent)
3. White (28.8 percent)
4. Sky blue (22.5 percent)
5. Beige (18.3 percent)
6. Gray (17 percent)
7. Blue (14 percent)
8. Red (7.5 percent)
9. Raspberry (6.3 percent)
10. Other (3.5 percent)

Moving back to the topic of breasts, for anyone who, in light of Japan’s longstanding unabashed admiration of busty feminine physiques, is skeptic about how truthful the male respondents were in making “big” only their number-four choice, it’s worth stating once again that Maruko specializes in shapewear, which tends to focus on the upper-body appearance as a whole, not just visually enhancing bust size. As such, it’s possible that the structure of the survey’s respondent selection process was more likely to find participants with “nicely shaped” as their primary preference, but at least for this group, size isn’t everything.

One of Japan’s favorite manga/anime stars gets her own real-world lingerie set【Photos】

Urusei Yatsura bra and pantie set salute fashion sense and hair color of Rumiko Takahashi’s Lum.

Rumiko Takahashi has created hit after hit in the manga/anime world, each with a large cast of unforgettable characters. But while there’s plenty of charm and charisma to be found among the heroes and heroines of Inuyasha and Ranma 1/2, in Japan it’s Lum, the alien princess at the center of Takahashi’s breakout work, Urusei Yatsura, that Japan keeps closest to its heart.

And now, also, on its chest.

Hiroshima lingerie maker tu-hacci has just unveiled its Urusei Yatsura Bralette and Shorts set, with the primary inspiration for the design being the iconic tiger-stripe bikini that serves as Lum’s most common costume, itself a nod to the furs worn by the oni of Japanese folktales, mythical creatures that Lum’s alien race has similarities with.

The Urusei Yatsura lingerie isn’t an exact copy of Lum’s outfit, though. For starters, it has elegant lacework bordering the tiger-stripe portions, and also straps and trim in a green-blue shade evocative of Lum’s hair color.

Since Lum has the power to produce powerful electric currents (regularly put to use in punishing her fiance Ataru’s wandering eye), there are lightning blot charms between the bra’s cups and on the panties’ waist.

And finally, to give the set some cuteness too, there’s super-deformed character art on the cups’ lining.

The set is available in medium, large, and extra-large sizes, priced at 4,980 yen (US$44), with pre-orders open now though tu-hacci’s online shop here.

However, if you’d like to save your cash to spend on, say, Urusei Yatsura manga collected volumes instead, tu-hacci is giving away 10 of the sets for free, with winners chosen randomly from among people who follow the company’s official Twitter account and retweet the tweet below.

Whether you purchase your Urusei Yatsura lingerie or win it, the sets ship in late January.

Gundam lingerie is a way to show your love for giant robots and their handsome anime boy pilots

$

Oshi color options are part of the unexpected crossover of mecha anime and intimate apparel.

Most of the time when we see an anime-themed lingerie design, the title it’s taking inspiration from is one with a certain soft, flowery feeling to its visual design, such as Sailor Moon or PreCure. The latest collaboration between intimate apparel maker Peach John and the world of Japanese animation, though, is a salute to a franchise where satin and lace are far less common than steel and energy blasts: Gundam.

Instead of the venerable original 1979 Gundam, though, Peach John is teaming up with Mobile Suit Gundam 00 for a pair of lingerie sets, plus a few more items with mecha-appeal. Why Gundam 00? Well it probably has something to do with its significantly sized cast of handsome anime boys, a quartet of whom have their image colors featured on the Peasy 001 Celestial Being bra and panty set.

Both the top and bottom feature a pattern based on the insignia of Celestial Being, the paramilitary organization Gundam 00’s main characters are attached to. But while the in-anime emblem is a mix of blue and gold, on the Peasy 001 set they alternate between solid blue, green, orange, and purple, corresponding with the image colors of mecha jock/heartthrobs Setsuna F. Seiei, Lockon Stratos, Allelujah Haptism, Tieria Erde.

▼ A refresher chart

If you’d rather stick to the traditional Celestial Being color motif, there’s also the Rirakore (“Relax Collection”) Mobile Suit Gundam 00 lingerie set with a non-wire bra.

Here the Celestial Being seal is rendered in lace along the edge of the bra cups and panty waistline, while the cream-colored “dots” are actually little versions of Haro, the Gundam franchise’s recurring robo buddy mascot.

The Rirakore set is priced at 4,378 yen (US$38), the Peassy 001 top at 2,508 yen, and the Peassy panties at 1,078 yen. Should you be needing more coverage, Peach John also has Oshi Color Big-Size Pajama sets with a relaxed fit that ask you to pledge your loyalty to a single Gundam pilot and feature the Celestial Being mark on the pocket for 5,478 yen…

…and, rounding off the collection, a Haro Eco Bag that folds up into the robot’s familiar spherical form and can be used by anyone, regardless of their underwear preferences, for 1,628 yen.

The entire lineup goes on sale January 15. And if the recent announcement of a new Urusei Yatsura TV series has you wanting to express your love for that anime in lingerie form too, there’s a way to do that as well.

Lace boxer briefs for men: Japanese company creates underwear that’s beautiful and functional

$

Who says only women should wear lace?

Japanese underwear manufacturer Wacoal has been in the business of making people feel beautiful since 1949, constantly adapting their products to keep them in line with the changing times.

These days, as the world breaks free from traditional norms surrounding “masculinity” and “femininity”, Wacoal is on the front foot again, this time developing the Lace Boxer — boxer briefs for men made with lace.

▼ The new briefs are said to be both beautiful and functional.

Wacoal first tested the waters with the Lace Boxer by offering it as a potential product on Japanese crowdfunding site Makuake in November last year. After it smashed its target funding goal of 300,000 yen (US$2,627.87) by a whopping 1,090 percent, earning 3.27 million yen ($28,578.92), it was clear that there was demand for the product, and so it went into production.

The lineup consists of seven colours, two of which are limited for sale at the Wacoal online store.

▼ The pink and yellow are only available online at Wacoal.

The material used is an original men’s lace which provides improved stretch and strength. The lace itself features a large floral pattern, elegantly finished with images of leaves and geometric motifs.

By increasing the strength of the lace, the material is said to have the same level of strength as a pair of Wacoal’s regular men’s boxer shorts. Furthermore, the transparency and breathability of lace helps to increase airflow, and the carefully moulded front section is designed to hold you securely in place, making them comfortable to wear for long periods of time.

The Lace Boxer enhances the beauty of the male body while its lightweight breathability provides the wearer with incredible comfort. Plus, the satin waistband will turn heads when it peeks out from beneath your trousers.

The Lace Boxer is priced at 3,960 yen (US$34.61) and is currently available at Wacoal stockists, Wacoal online, and Amazon.

Japanese lingerie saleswoman gives Internet a lesson in what bust sizes look like in real life

$

0

“There is a tendency to misunderstand breast sizes.”

Japanese Twitter user @lingerie1108 is a lingerie saleswoman, and one who’s very committed to her profession, describing herself as someone who loves providing customers with properly fitting undergarments more than just about anything else in life.

So when she notices a misconception about the female form, she’s compelled to point it out, which leads us to this recent tweet from her showing the bra-clad chests of two women.

So what point is @lingerie1108 illustrating here?

“There is a tendency to misunderstand breast sizes.

When they hear ‘E cups,’ most people imagine the picture on the left, but the picture on the right is what actual E cups look like.

The picture on the left shows J cups.”

In other words, according to @lingerie1108, people often envision breasts of a certain cup size as bigger than they actually are. Put another way, when looking at a pair of breasts, they estimate their cup size to be smaller than it really is.

And why does @lingerie1108 want to correct this?

“There will always be men who say things like ‘Your breasts don’t look like E cups at all!’ or ‘Haha are you sure you measured ‘em right?’ or some other crazy theory. I’m here to tell the women who clueless guys say those things to that their stupidity isn’t worth letting hurt you.”

@lingerie1108’s expert opinion on the subject has earned her photo lesson some 18,000 likes as well as several agreeing replies like:

“I want this truth to spread.”
“They’re mine, so I know them better than anyone. He doesn’t have breasts, so how would he know?”
“My breasts are Ds or Es, but I had a guy say ‘They’re small. They’re As or Bs, right?’ I almost slugged him LOL Don’t use manga and anime sizes on me.”

The last comment is alluding to the tendency for anime characters’ stated cup sizes to correspond to much larger breast sizes than they would in real life. The basic logic is more or less “A and B cups are small, C and D are average, and E and above is big,” but the stylized nature of most popular anime series’ art design means that a character with an average-size-by-anime-standards chest generally has proportions that would be significantly bustier than average in real life.

Of course, anime is far from the only visual medium which affords guys the opportunity to look at breasts, so it’s probably not the only culprit for the size misconceptions. Regardless of the root source, though, @lingerie1108 advises anyone who accuses them of lying about their cup size to pay the accuser no heed.

Naomi Watanabe produces new line of comfortable yet supportive ‘at home’ bras, sizes up to 5L

$

If I don’t wear a bra, I’m in danger of my breasts hitting my face when I walk,’ the fashion icon joked.

Those of us who are stuck with the chore of having to wear a bra day in, day out will know the wave of satisfaction one feels when you can finally take it off at the end of the day. And especially these days when more and more people are working from home, even wearing a bra to begin with seems unnecessary.

Of course, letting the girls hang free for a long time eventually leads to sagging, and may also contribute to back, shoulder and chest pain, so it seems like we are stuck with bras for the time being. But surely there has to be a bra that offers both comfort and support for when you’re at home?

Well, now there is! Nmerry have created a new line of bras that promise both comfort and support, aimed at being used at home. Whether you’re checking Instagram in bed, working at your desk or lying on the sofa binge-watching Netflix, the Nmerry bra aims to support your breasts without feeling too constricting.

The bras are produced by Naomi Watanabe, fashion icon and, recently, an Adidas brand ambassador. Naomi is no stranger to the world of creating fashion labels — her other label PUNYUS is still going strong since it was launched in 2014.

When asked why she decided to dip her fashionable feet into the world of bras, she commented ‘I’ve always wanted a bra that I can wear at home.’ She joked, ‘If I don’t wear a bra, my breasts get really saggy, and when I walk around I’m in danger of them hitting me in the face. I wanted to make a bra that keeps me comfortable.’

A unique feature of the Nmerry bras is that they are different depending on the sizes. Bras sized S are tightly gathered at the front to create cleavage and is a V-cut shape, whereas bras sized M to 2L have a round cut neckline and offer fitted support to maintain a ‘beautiful bust’. Bras sized 3L to 5L offer full support from all directions to prevent sagging and also have a round cut neckline.

The larger sizes have extra features such as ‘three-dimensional bust netting’ and an ‘anti-under-curling design’ to prevent fuller busts from moving around too much. Big-chested ladies may normally find it difficult to sleep on their backs, for example, as their breasts tend to move around towards their décolletage. Thanks to the ‘upper flow prevention panel’ feature in sizes 3L-5L, Nmerry bra-wearers can sleep with their breasts comfortably locked in place.

▼ No boob-movage here!

The bras come in four colours — black, brown, pink and khaki — and are made of sustainable materials.

▼ The bras are described as having a ‘silky feel’.

The bras cost 5,478 yen (US$47) each, with some discounts if you buy two (9,462 yen) three (13,446 yen) or four (16,923 yen). Sizes S-2L are available for purchase now, whereas 3L-5L are available for pre-order, and are expected to be in stock from March/April.

Japanese lingerie brand now selling underwear embroidered with a famous renaissance painting

$

Now you can wear your love of classical art on your chest with The Birth of Venus panties and bra!

Japanese lingerie brand Peach John is often coming out with cute underwear. Sometimes it’s anime-themed, like the Gundam lingerie that came out earlier this year, and sometimes it’s more traditional in design. But would you have ever expected them to take a classical work of art like Sandro Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus and put it on a bra and panties?

Well, they did! Meet the Peach John Boticelli Green lingerie.

Featuring one of the most famous Italian Renaissance paintings, this lingerie is almost like a work of classical art all on its own. The main images of the painting are depicted on the bra (4,378 yen/US$36.06) over a base of sea green to represent the spring ocean depicted in the painting, so there’s no mistaking the inspiration behind this unique lingerie set.

On the left cup is Venus herself, standing on her scallop shell with her hand to her chest and holding her golden hair, flanked by one of her attendants holding a cloak for her. On the right is the wind god Zephyr holding a young woman as they blow Venus to shore.

They’re meticulously embroidered on to the cups of the bra, giving it quite a luxurious feel. The lacey border on the cups and the decorative straps give the embroideries the feel of being in a frame, and the lightly translucent back strap is equal parts sexy and pretty.

It’s not only beautiful but also functional, as it has an L-shaped wire supporting the cup as well as removable padding inside the cups, providing a nice lift and great support. It’s available in a range of sizes, from B to F cup, with underbust sizes available in 65, 70, and 75.

The matching panties have the same blue base color and are printed with a scattering of the roses that blow around Zephyr and his companion, making for a more subtle connection to The Birth of Venus. With their lacey frills, they have a delicate, fleeting femininity that you (or your partner) may not be able to resist. They come in a bikini and a thong (1,628 yen each), depending on your preferences. The bikini is available in small, medium, and large, while the thong is available in an S/M size and a M/L size.

These pieces are part of the Peach John line of lingerie called “Kyosho no Bra”, or “Master’s Bras”, which include lingerie embroidered with other famous works of art like Monet, Alphonse Mucha, Pieter Bruegel, Van Gogh, Gustav Klimt, and even Hokusai. We’re looking forward to finding out what work of art they’re going to recreate next!

You can purchase both the bra and the panties (in the style or your choice) from Peach John’s online shop. If you’re an art fan, you won’t want to miss the chance to wear this classic painting!

All-bra stock photo site wants to help Japan when it needs free images of intimate apparel【Pics】

Users can use search options such as color and season to sift through hundreds of bra photos.

As a country with a robust online media sector, Japan can always use a good stock photo site. But sometimes general-use image collections’ broad variety of pictures means that they’re also pretty shallow in regards to selection for any one specific theme.

So in those cases, you need to go looking for a specialized stock photo site, and Japan’s newest has a very focused theme: bras.

Bra Drawer, or Bra no Hikidashi, to use the site’s Japanese name, is a free-to-use online resource for anyone looking for bra photos. Created by Osaka-based lingerie company Heaven Japan, Bra Drawer has nearly 400 photos of intimate apparel, with search options to help you find a shot that perfectly meets your needs.

The simplest sorting criteria is color, but you can also search for bra images by season or event, such as “summer”…

…”Halloween”…

…or even “New Year’s,” which brings up photos with the auspicious red-and-white color scheme used for New Year’s decorations in Japan.

You an also search by style, in case you need a picture of, say, a sports bra.

Heaven Japan sells its bras online, and Bra Drawer is stocked with photos originally taken for use on the company’s online shop. Because of that, Bra Drawer users familiar with the Heaven Japan lineup can also filter their results for images of specific product lines, like the Tanimadonna seen here.

As for why someone would need bra stock images, Heaven Japan envisions a situation where someone might be writing, blogging, or tweeting about a specific type of bra, maybe to recommend a certain type to their followers after a good personal experience with it, or to talk about new fashion trends, but not necessarily want to share a picture of their own bra.

Bra Drawer can be found here, joining Japan’s macho muscly men stock photo site on the list of Japan’s most unique free-to-use image collections.

Top coplayer Enako lingerie cosplays new line of One Piece intimate apparel【Photos】

One Piece Film: Red teams up with Peach John to create lingerie sets for Nami, Robin, and Uta, plus Shanks pajamas for guys and girls.

When anime TV series get an original side-story movie, they need to find a way to creates stakes and tension without deviating from mainline plot of the weekly episodes. Oftentimes the solution is to add a new character as a guest star who the regular casts meets and whose adventures become temporarily entwined with, which is what happens in the newest One Piece theatrical installment, One Piece Film: Red, and its introduction of the songstress Uta.

Uta isn’t only getting attention because she’s the movie’s central character, though. For one thing, she’s the daughter of Shanks, pirate lord and mentor of series protagonist Luffy. Then there’s the fact that Uta’s singing voice is provided by Ado, whose song “Usseewa” became pop culture phenomenon last year. And now, Uta’s profile is rising even higher with her very own lingerie from the designers at intimate apparel maker Peach John, which top cosplayer Enako has cosplay modeled.

The Uta Bra Set takes its cues from the character’s asymmetrical two-tone hairstyle and angelic motifs. There’s even a pair of wings at the point where the crisscrossing shoulder straps meet in back.

In addition to the Uta Bra Set, there’s also an Uta Lingerie Set, which replaces the bra with a nightgown and simplifies the pantie design somewhat.

Once again, angel wings are part of the design, this time taking up places on either side of the breezy slit in the upper back.

Uta’s daddy is also a key figure in One Piece Film: Red, though (he’s called “Red-Haired Shanks,” after all, and leads the Red-Haired Pirates). While Peach John is primarily a lingerie maker, they also carry some men’s items, which is where the Shanks Pajama Set comes in, with a cut that’s loose enough to relax yet flattering enough for swashbuckling style.

Enako takes a brief break from modeling duties here, with comedian and YouTuber Crystal Noda instead filling in as the swashbuckling father.

The Shanks Pajamas are actually available in both men’s and women’s sizes, and Peach John recommends matching his/her sets for couples. The designers also say that the buttons are openable for a more “wild” look, but as Noda demonstrates, full wildness can be achieved by just taking off the shirt entirely.

Another tried-and-true method of spicing up the visuals for an anime franchise’s theatrical installment is to give the regular cast new costumes. Some of the Straw Hat Pirates’ new duds are also getting the Peach John treatment, starting with the Nami Lingerie Set, which Enako returns for.

As with the Uta Lingerie Set, this includes a nightgown and panties. It actually provides quite a bit more coverage in the front than Nami’s outfit does, with a fairly high neckline. The back, though, is quite a bit more exposed.

Also getting a Lingerie Set is Robin, though in her case Peach John uses the term to mean a bra and panties, with no nightgown.

▼ It’s linguistically inconsistent, but people have been known to sometimes have trouble concentrating when Robin’s around.

Enako is actually sporting a lot of accessories that aren’t included in the set itself in her photos here. The silver ox’s head on the back, though, is part of the Peach John package.

And finally checking in with Uta one more time, there’s a cozy roomwear hoodie based on her rainbow-trimmed jacket.

It’ll probably be a while until the weather is cool enough to warrant wearing something like this, but in the meantime, the eye-catching colors and graphics essentially turn it into a stylish interior accent hanging in your closet or clothes rack.

The Uta Bra Set, Robin Lingerie Set, and Shanks Pajama Set are priced at 5,478 yen (US$40.60), the Uta and Nami Lingerie Sets at 6,028 yen, and the Uta Hoodie at 6,908 yen. They all go on sale September 21 and can be ordered through the Peach John online shop here.

Bras of Versailles–Anime Rose of Versailles gets lingerie line designed by original creator【Pics】

Manga creator draws Marie Antoinette wearing bra and vowing to “bloom into full glory.”

Japanese lingerie maker Wacoal describes the theme for its Salute sub-brand as “dramatic sexy,” and roses are a frequent motif in its designs. Drama and roses, it just so happens, are also prevalent elements in Rose of Versailles, creator Riyoko Ikeda’s epic manga/anime tale of romance and upheaval set during the buildup to the French revolution.

Because of that, Ikeda and Salute decided to work together, and the result is a new line of Rose of Versailles lingerie.

Ikeda herself oversaw the design of the collection, with the team seeing main characters Marie Antoinette and Oscar François de Jarjayes as emblematic of the strong and sexy aura Salute wants to create through its intimate apparel. That desire for elegant allure means you won’t find character artwork fabric prints of Rose of Versailles logos on the items. Instead, Ikeda’s aim was to incorporate the fluttering rose petals and opulent ornamentation of courtly attire that regularly fill the pages of her manga into the collaborative bras and panties.

As proof of how well they fit the aesthetics of the Rose of Versailles world, Ikeda has created illustrations of her characters modeling a few of the designs, as with Marie Antoinette below saying “Blossoming at my breast is the noble rose called Salute.”

▼ For the record, Salute’s bras aren’t necessarily meant to be worn sticking out from above the neckline (a fashion called misebura in Japanese), but we suppose being the princess of France means you can do whatever you want.

The bras pictured above are part of Salute’s 73 Group push-up/lift-up bra line. For something less flashy but still luxuriously lacy there’s also the 74 Group selection, which is available as either a “real up bra” (as Salute calls it) that enhances the visual voluminous of the wearer’s chest, or in a design meant to deemphasize bust size.

▼ Marie Antoinette modeling one of the 74 Group Rose of Versailles bras, while declaring “Wearing Salute, I will take bloom into full glory at center stage, living my life like a rose.”

Prices start at 10,450 yen (US$73) for the 73 Group bras and 8,250 yen for the 74 Group, with slight price increases for larger sizes. Bottoms are sold separately, with the 73 Group’s available as standard panties, shorts, or a T-back design (prices ranging from 4,400 to 5,170 yen)…

…and standard panties or a string-sided T-back for the 74 Group (3,850-3,960 yen).

The 73 Group designs can be purchased though the Salute website here, while the 74 Group goes on sale in late December, meaning the entire range will be available by the time that new Rose of Versailles anime movie comes out.

New Pikachu bras and other Pokémon lingerie appear in Japan【Photos】

Pokémon and Peach John team up for new collection of bras, panties, and roomwear.

When you hear the words “Pokémon fashion,” your first image might be casual T-shirts bearing the Pocket Monsters’ likenesses. Or maybe you think of those custom-made Pokémon dress shirts, or even some high-end accessories, like the new black-coated Gengar rings.

But the Pokémon franchise’s newest fashion foray is a team-up with Japanese lingerie maker Peach John. The collection consists of a total of 6 items, starting with, naturally, a Pikachu bra and panties set.

This is a brand-new design, completely different from the Pikachu Peach John bra from a few years back. The franchise mascot makes his Pika-presence felt in nine places, three times on each cup and three times across the waistline of the panties.

There’s also a Peach John Pokémon bralette, and since the appeal of the underwire-less undergarment is its superior comfort compared to a standard bra, it seems quite fitting that the Pocket Monster gracing this set is Comfey.

In addition to lingerie, Peach John also offers innerwear and roomwear, and Pikachu and Eevee join forces on this wide-necked innerwear shirt.

The really cozy stuff, though, comes in the form of the Mareep pajamas

…and the Yamper roomwear one-piece, which has a brushed fabric lining to help keep you warm through winter’s three-dog nights.

And last, there’s the Mimikyu three-piece loungewear set, which seems like an appropriate pairing considering that the species essentially where a canary-yellow cover over its shadowy body.

The bra/panties sets are priced at 5,478 yen (US$39.40), the innerwear shirt 2,948, the pajamas and one-piece 6,578, and the Mimikyu set 7,678. All of them go on sale December 7 at Peach John stores and the brand’s online shop, and will only be available “while supplies last,” so you’ll want to get your shopping done early if any of these are going on your Christmas list.

Mt Fuji and Raijin and Fujin lingerie sets let you wear your love for Japan under your clothes

Keep the gods of wind and thunder close to your chest.

For the last couple of years, Japanese lingerie retailer Peach John has been bringing the world of art to lingerie with their “Master’s Bra” series. Inspired by artistic masterpieces by the likes of Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh and Czech painter Alfons Maria Mucha, the series is now welcoming two new Japanese works of art to the fold.

The first style is “Red Fuji Blue“, which is an homage to Red Fuji, one of the most popular works in the widely acclaimed Thirty-six Views of Mt Fuji by esteemed ukiyo-e artist Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849).

The design faithfully reproduces the iconic red Mt Fuji that appears in Hokusai’s masterpiece, along with the clouds that appear in the blue sky alongside it. The clouds also flit across the pants, which are embellished with a frill to add an ethereal softness to the look.

The second style is “Fujin Raijin Gold“, modelled on the famous Fujin Raijin-zu Folding Screens painted by Sotatsu Tawaraya (1570-1643) in the early 17th Century. The screens, now listed as a national treasure, show Wind God Fujin and Thunder God Raijin on a glistening gold background, and the bra does a beautiful job of replicating the artwork, with the dynamic movements of each god shown on the cups.

▼ Wind God Fujin can be seen on the cup to the right, while Thunder God Raijin graces the cup on the left.

▼ The gods also appear on the matching pants.

The bras are priced at 4,500 yen (US$34.12) each, while the pants are priced at 1,910 yen. They can be purchased at Peach John stockists and online, and if you’d like to add more art to your underwear, Hokusai’s Great Wave lingerie set is available as well, and it’s currently on sale.

This bra and pantie set is a JoJo’s reference【Photos】

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure shows off its fashionable side with lingerie inspired by Stone Ocean protagonist Jolyne Cujoh.

Though “bizarre” is the franchise’s marque adjective, there’s no ignoring how fashionable JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is. Creator Hirohiko Araki has a remarkable talent for combining dramatic poses, bold hairstyling, and expressive apparel, giving the anime/manga series an instantly recognizable singular aesthetic.

JoJo’s sense of fashion is coming into our world too this month, thanks to a tie-up with the Japanese division of lingerie maker Bradelis New York. With Stone Ocean, the most recent part of the source material to be adapted by the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime TV series, having wrapped up in December, Bradelis has released a bra, panty, and garter belt set based on the costume worn by Stone Ocean protagonist Jolyne Cujoh.

Like many of the prominent characters of the franchise, Jolyne has a Stand, a supernatural entity who accompanies and assists her on her bizarre adventures. Jolyne’s Stand, named Stone Free, grants her the power to unravel her physical form into strands, which Bradelis’ designers have referenced with their use of stretched raschel lace.

More overt nods to the character can be found in the bra choker’s butterfly emblem, which also appears at the pack of the panties, which matches the motif on Jolyne’s chest.

And for fans in the know, there’s also a heart on the bra’s left shoulder strap, aligning with the location where Jolyne and her fellow Joestar clan JoJo’s protagonists share a family birthmark.

The green version pictured above most closely matches the hue of Jolyne’s costume, but you can also opt for orange or black.

The JoJo’s Collaboration Jolyn Model, as the lineup is officially called, is on sale now with the bra priced at 8,800 yen (US$68), and the panties and garter belt 4,400 yen each. They’re available through the Bradelis New York Japan online shop here, as well as select physical stores in Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Sendai.

Man in Japan arrested after sneaking into woman’s apartment and washing her lingerie

Remembering to hang it up to dry afterwards not likely to earn him any clemency.

On the morning of October 30, a 28-year-old woman living in the town of Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture went out from her apartment for the day. Unfortunately, she left her door unlocked, and sure enough, while she had been out, an intruder had let himself in.

As is not infrequently the case in such incidents in Japan, the man who had entered the woman’s apartment was targeting her underwear. However, the intruder was no panty thief, as he didn’t take any of the undergarments with him when he left. As a matter of fact, the woman might not have even known anyone had been in her apartment while she was gone, except for the fact that when she returned in the evening she noticed that her underwear had been washed and hung up to dry, along with some other articles of her clothing.

Now, there are many cases where someone doing your laundry for you is a convenient, and/or considerate thing, for instance if it’s your spouse or a maid service you’ve hired. This, though, was obviously not one of those desirable situations, and so the next day the woman went to her local police box and reported the incident to the officers on duty.

It wasn’t long before the culprit was in custody. Before the day was done, another resident of the apartment building the woman lives in came to the police box, bringing along a third resident of the building, a 50-year-old man, who admitted that “There is no mistake that I entered [the woman’s] apartment without permission” and that he had washed the lingerie and other clothing.

The bizarre crime has left Japanese Twitter commenters baffled, with reactions including:

“The hell was he thinking?”
“It’s like one of those fairytales where gnomes do things around your house when you’re not home.”
“This sort of crime is on a plane beyond what my brain can understand.”
“If the circumstances had been different, he’d be a gentleman, but he’s a perv.”
“So he’s an underwear fetishist who’s also into cleanliness?”
“Washing underwear instead of stealing it? That’s some high-level perversion of its own.”
“It’s a very specific propensity.”

The man has been placed under arrest for trespassing. With the door having been left unlocked, it’s unclear if breaking and entering charges could be levied, as is what specific crime, if any, unauthorized laundry activities fall under, but at the very least it would seem like the apartment landlord has grounds to evict the man from the building.

As of this writing, the police are still investigating the incident and trying to determine a motive, but it’s a pretty safe bet that they’re not going to find one that makes sense.

“I just wanted her to see my T-back” doesn’t save Japanese man from being arrested for exposing butt

$

Thin strip of cloth is a thin excuse in the eyes of the law.

At around 5:30 p.m. last Wednesday, a young woman was riding an escalator in a shopping center in Okayama City’s Kita Ward. That should be about as mundane as a weekday evening scene can get, but the escalator ride had a sudden twist as the man in front of the woman suddenly pulled down his pants and gave her an eyeful of his butt cheeks.

Of course, the problem with butt-flashing someone on an escalator is that everyone knows where you’re going: to the top of the escalator. Well, there’s also the problem of the moral reprehensibleness of flashing someone in general, but in any case, doing it on an escalator makes escape difficult. Sure enough, a security guard apprehended the man, later identified as a 44-year-old office worker who lives in the city’s Higashi Ward. The security guard then called the police, delivering the succinct report of “I have a suspicious person in custody.”

The woman is described as being “judai,” a Japanese term describing someone between the age of 10 and 19, though with reports not referring to her as a child, she’s likely a teenager, and above the legal-adulthood age of 18.

Officers were promptly dispatched to the scene, but during questioning the man partly denied the accusations. He’s not contesting that he pulled down his pants with the explicit purpose of showing the woman what was underneath, but he’s contesting that he didn’t expose his posterior, as he was wearing undergarments. In explaining his motives to the police, the man said “It was not my intention to show her my butt. I wanted a young woman to see the T-back underwear I was wearing.”

As such, the man could perhaps contend that he didn’t expose his butt, as he was, technically, still wearing something under his pants. That said, depending on the design of the underwear and the voluminousness of the man’s butt cheeks, it’s possible that the T-back was burrowed far enough his crack as to be materially the same as exposing a completely bare backside. And if you’re of the opinion that even flashing your T-backed butt to an unwilling stranger should be illegal, you’ll be happy to know that the man was still arrested on charges of violating Okayama’s Nuisance Prevention Ordinance.

▼ “Your butt is a severe enough nuisance that it violates the law” is among the more uniquely damning indictments the legal system can make against an individual.

It’s worth pointing out that while Japan does have a tradition of men wearing loincloths, which also provide only scant coverage of the lower body, such attire is generally reserved for traditional festivals and the lapsed Men of SoraNews24 charity calendar, situations/publications where people are mentally prepared for the possibility of seeing some cheek. Dropping trou on unsuspecting shoppers, on the other hand, will get you in trouble with the law even more quickly than carrying around Harry Potter’s Sword of Gryffindor.

Lingerie lucky bag from Japan’s Peach John includes anime cosplay bra/panty set, maybe by accident

$

Intentional or not, there’s one anime icon we’ll always think of when we see this intimate apparel.

More than a few fashion companies in Japan offer lucky bags/fukubukuro at New Year’s, bundling up a number of apparel items in a blind-buy grab bag of style and surprises. It’s not just outerwear designers that do this either, as Peach John, one of Japan’s most popular lingerie brands, has an annual lucky bag too.

Now, seeing as how you don’t know what’s in a lucky bag until you buy it, you obviously can’t try the items on first either. That might seem like it would present a problem with intimate apparel, but Peach John resolves this issue by grouping their lucky bags by underwire measurement and cup size. This year, in addition to offering lucky bags for purchase in-store, Peach John also made them available for order through their online store, which is where our Japanese-language reporter Ikuna Kamezawa got hers.

This isn’t Ikuna’s first time to try her luck with Peach John’s lucky bag, though. She’s bought the brand’s fukubukuro for the last few years, and in her experience there’s always one rather unique bra/panty set. For example, Ikuna’s Peach John bundle last year included a navy-blue T-back that looked very much like a bat spreading its wings to fly through the night skies.

This year’s Peach John lucky bag was priced at 5,500 yen (US$35) and contains three bras and three pairs of panties, making it a very attractive deal in terms of lingerie for your yen. But would it provide the uniqueness that we’ve come to expect? The only way to find out was to open up the bag, which had five smaller bags inside of it.

At first we thought there might be one bag missing, but it turned out that a matching white set of bra and panties had been bagged together.

These weren’t particularly playful or provocative, but they were still a nice, classic look, something that could be worn by women across a pretty wide range of ages and fashion philosophies, so Ikuna had no complaints.

Bagged separately were a pale pink bra and some lavender panties. Again, nothing outlandish, but still attractive enough designs with understated classiness to them. Ikuna couldn’t help feeling, though, that they don’t necessarily go all that well each other, and that she’d probably be better off looking for partners for them from among her preexisting lingerie wardrobe.

The final two pieces inside the lucky bag were also separately wrapped. However, these two were quite clearly designed as a set, and here is where Peach John’s designers finally let their creative colors fly!

It’s an unquestionably bold design, with lacy see-through sections and a sort of fantasy-Asia air to it. Ikuna was especially impressed by the backside of the panties, with its minimal visual coverage and opening just below the waistline.

But more than anything, it’s the color scheme that commands attention by sliding a step over on the color wheel and skipping past yellow to instead put green with purple.

The more she looked at it, the more Ikuna felt like she’d seen this combination of colors in an iconic anime design. At first she thought she might be being reminded of Evangelion Unit-01, but that has a lot more purple with just a few green highlights, as seen in its McDonald’s Japan spokesmecha appearances. There’s also a lot of white in the Peach John lingerie, plus a band of orangish brown, further distancing it from the Eva.

Hmm…what was it…the character with this color scheme was right on the tip of Ikuna’s brain…

And then it hit Ikuna like a ton of bricks…or maybe we should say it hit her like a Special Beam Cannon/Makankosappo blast. This color combination…

…is Piccolo’s, from Dragon Ball Z!

Now, just like with another fashion ensemble that reminded us a powerful anime/video game martial artist, we can’t say for sure whether or not Peach John was specifically/explicitly trying to make us think of the stoic Namekian when they designed this lingerie set. Now that the visual connection has clicked, though, we’re going to have a hard time not thinking about it, so considering how many times Piccolo has put his life on the line in Dragon Ball duels, maybe these would make the perfect showdown panties.
